It's a new version of Compose Special Characters by chuckhenrich. Now it works on LO 6 and 7

Calc Writer

Description

Compose Special Characters lets you type two or three characters and use a keyboard shortcut to convert them into a single accented or special character.

You can also compose unicode characters using the 4 character unicode value.

Writer and Calc are currently supported.

Instructions

After you install the extension you need to restart LibreOffice. After you restart LO you'll find Compose Special Characters on the Insert menu (Insert > Compose Characters...)

    this is not composespecialcharacters-2.0.11 but composespecialcharacters-2.0.10

    I'm delighted to see this has been updated for use with current (I'm on v. 7.0.4.2) LibreOffice! On a Mac, it took a bit of fiddling to set up a working shortcut key (CTRL = CMD), but I got there. I've been missing this for some time! If anyone is interested, the original documentation is available in the Wayback Machine; I've saved it to a Gist here: https://is.gd/p690qe
