Parabolic Colour Palette

6 0

Provides Parabolic HSV Colour Palettes, that emphasize on bright and pastel colours.

Project Description

In the parabolic palettes value and saturation are not distributed linearly, but parabolically (proportional to x^2). The resulting palettes have more shades of colours the more brightness and less shades of colour the more saturation is chosen. Like this, the palettes have more different shades of grey and bright colours, but less shades for intense and dark colours.

This strategy is ideal for printed paper work, since printers tend to print too dark. Furthermore it is good for illustrating diagrams or coloured tables, because bright background colours allow better contrast to the foreground colour used for the text, which usally is printed in black.

You have to copy the *.soc files in the appropriate directory. On my system (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) it is the path "~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/config/". Afterwards you can load the palette within Libreoffice Draw under "right click on object" --> Area --> Colors. Look for the folder symbol and press this button.

The *.png files are just previews of the color palette.
