Hatch Patterns for Cells - 1.1.0

Added Ability To Apply Background Color To Hatch Patterns.

Release Details

Operations allowed: Create Hatch Cells – single, group, scattered. Up to 500 cells per sheet can have a Hatch applied (a group selection of A1:A10 is 10 cells) in a single operation. Clear Selected Cells – single, group, scattered. Clear ALL cells of hatch patterns. Re-build hatch patterns. This allows for re-sizing and Column/Row additions and deletions. Add new hatch patterns to selection.

Now includes ability to have color backgrounds for the hatch pattern.

Note: Documentation now included within extension.  See Changelog section.

Since there are site problems with lost locations of documentation, here are the key changes since Release 1.0.0:

Clear Direct Formatting

Information for cell hatching is retained in a cells’ user data field. If “Clear Direct Formatting” is applied to the cell, this information is also cleared. Although the hatch pattern remains, any attempt to restore the hatch data will result in the hatch pattern being removed for that cell.

Background Colors

Cell background color and hatch patterns utilize the same layering level with cell background taking priority. To accommodate hatch background colors, the cell background is copied then erased from the cell. The copied information is applied to the hatch background and saved in the user data section of the cell with the other hatch information.

If the hatch pattern is removed through the dialogs’ clearing method, the hatch background color is re-applied to the cell as its’ background color.

If a cell containing a hatch pattern has a new cell background color applied, the existing hatch pattern is hidden (you can see this by changing the background color to ‘No Fill”).

To set a different background color, clear the hatch pattern, change the background color of the cell then re-apply the hatch pattern.
