Description
LanguageTool is a style and grammar proofreading software for English, French, German, and a lot of other languages. You can think of LanguageTool as a software to detect errors that a simple spell checker cannot detect, e.g. mixing up there/their, no/now etc. It can also detect some grammar mistakes.
Supported languages are: Asturian, Belarusian, Breton, Catalan, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, Esperanto, French, Galician, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian. Please note that the level of support differs a lot between languages.
If you have trouble with the installation, please see our checklist.

EN: It seems to be working alright, but just as Javier Rondon said, the only working version for LO 7.0+ is 4.1.
I tried the latest LanguageTool (5.2.2), and even though I can install it just fine, the service cannot start inside LO, it gives me a "LanguageTool can not start" message popup.
Hopefully, the next LO update will work with it, otherwise, I hope it can be fixed on LT's side.

When using the LanguageTool LibreOffice Writer freezes. Needed to remove the extension to make it work well again.

Extension freezes the system, the changes made are not saved. On time there was a Java error (LT version 5.1.3). Reason to remove the extension again.
Besides the crashes the extension did the job for the Dutch language spelling an grammar as expected.
Running Linux Mint 20 and LO Version: 6.4.6.2 - Build ID: 1:6.4.6-0ubuntu0.20.04.1

Pisząc wierszem, dodatek na końcu każdego wersu sugeruje kropkę, co jest błędem i nonsensem.

Does what it says on the tin. For some reason I could not find it with the search option on the extensions website. But the Language Tool website has a link.

It was much harder than it should be to find out that one needs to install this extension. Downloading it was slow and installation was somewhat non-intutive. And then I find that when I finally get the thing to run - and, er, not run multiple simultaneous copies of the proofing window - it has dropped the proofing window out of HiDPI and is too small to read.
This is like the bad old days of Linux. It's disastrous. I will have to uninstall the edition to make any type of proofing within Libre Office usable.
I am on Mint Cinnamon with LibreOffice 6.4.6.2.

It seems that v5.1.3 does not work with the LibreOffice 7. It crashes the LO. :(
